A record of every step, attached to every document
Closign logs who sent, opened, confirmed their email and signed, with the time and IP address. When everyone has signed, a certificate of completion is added to the signed PDF, and anyone holding it can check it online.

What the audit trail records
Each event is saved with its time and IP address as it happens. Events can’t be edited or deleted from the app.
Shortened example. The real record also lists each email sent and each field filled in, plus reminders, declines with the reason given, expiry and voiding when they happen.
Proof that travels with the PDF
Certificate of completion
Added as the last page (or pages) of the signed PDF. It lists every signer’s name, email, IP address and device, when they opened the document, agreed to sign electronically and signed, and every event, with all times in UTC.
SHA-256 fingerprint
When the last signer finishes, Closign records the SHA-256 fingerprint of the sealed PDF. Change a single character in the file and the fingerprint no longer matches.
Public verification
Anyone can check a copy at closign.io/verify, without an account: upload the PDF, or enter its document ID and the first 16 characters of its fingerprint.
Verify a document-
Email one-time codes Signers who open an emailed link confirm a code sent to that address before they see the document.
-
Private by default The verify page shows signer names with partly hidden emails, and never the document’s contents or anyone’s IP address.
-
Kept for 8 years Audit trails are kept for 8 years after a document is completed, even if the sender later closes their account. Privacy Policy

E-signatures are legally recognised for most everyday agreements, for example under the IT Act, 2000 in India, the ESIGN Act and UETA in the US, and eIDAS in the EU (as simple electronic signatures). Some documents still need paper or a stronger signature. This is general information, not legal advice. E-signature laws by country
Questions
Everyone on the document. When the last signer finishes, the signers, the sender and anyone in CC get the signed PDF by email, with the certificate of completion as its last page. Large files come as a download link instead.
There is no signed PDF, but the sender can still download a certificate of decline or voiding from the document page, with the reason and the full audit trail.
Only what someone holding the document can already see: its name and ID, the sending workspace, when it was completed, each signer’s name, partly hidden email and signing time, and the SHA-256 fingerprints. It never shows the contents or IP addresses.
So everyone on the document reads the same times wherever they are. In the app, the audit trail shows times in your own time zone.
No. Closign drafts and executes documents but is not a law firm. For complex or high-value agreements, have a lawyer review the draft.
